Mission Statement

Citizens for Colton First is a non-partisan political grassroots group made up of Colton citizens and business owners. Our mission is to inform, educate and involve ALL citizens regarding the issues which confront our city and to eliminate corruption. Our ultimate goal is to help move the City of Colton forward in a positive manner through advocacy and by making sure our elected officials and city staff adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards.

Will Council Raise Water Rates Too? PDF Print E-mail

Following an increase in the cities electrical rates, the city council will entertain a proposal at its next meeting to raise the water rates each year over the next four years.

Council votes 4-3 in favor of rate increase PDF Print E-mail

The Colton City Council voted 4-3 to raise the cities electrical rates 16.7% over the next eight months.

Voting in favor of the rate increase was Mayor Kelly Chastain, District 3 Councilmember Vince Yzaguirre, District 4 Councilmember Susan Oliva and District 6 Councilmember Alex Perez.

District 1 Councilmember David Toro, District 2 Councilmember Richard DeLaRosa and District 5 Councilmember Dierdre Bennett all voted against the increase.
